The Huron Welcome Hub for Newcomers was established in January 2024 to assist immigrants settling in Huron County. Newcomers come from all corners of the world, and our goal is to assist them with the services they need to make a happy and successful transfer to Canada, specifically our rural communities. This support includes English translation help, housing advice, guidance completing documentation, advice on Canadian life and culture, and introductions to all the social and recreational activities in our county.
Our volunteers are key to helping newcomers navigate our community. As a bonus, it’s a way to develop new friendships and an appreciation for what immigrants bring to our corner of the world!
